Transporting audiences backwards through time to Montana at the turn of the 20th century,Legends of the Fallfollows Colonel William Ludlow (Anthony Hopkins), who has just left the army and struck out fresh with his family and some Cree friends. The first chapter of the movie lays the groundwork for a tale that spans decades and follows the Ludlow children through the years. We meet the three brothers — Samuel (Henry Thomas), Tristan (Pitt), and Alfred (Aidan Quinn) — each of whom eventually enlists in WWI, a decision that will change their lives in devastating ways. From the trenches of Europe and through the bootlegging days of Prohibition, the movie charts the course of the lives of the Ludlow boys well into adulthood along with all of their trials and tribulations.
