The doors of Ted Black’s (Stephen Amell) law firm are about to open up to anotherSuitsregular. Per Deadline, NBC’s Hollywood-based spinoff of the USA Network smash hit,Suits LA, is bringing backRick Hoffmanas corporate finance attorney Louis Litt for an episode later in Season 1. Assuming the series gets the call for a second season, there’s a strong possibility he’ll be back for future episodes too to help the cast get “Litt up” from time to time. He’s officially the second returning face from the original series to line up an appearance on the new show followingGabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter, though they, unfortunately, won’t cross paths during their appearances.
Litt was a polarizing figure on the originalSuits, known for his raging inferiority complex that largely defined his relationship with Specter and others at the firm. Asbeloved as he was hated, he was nothing if not entertaining, providing a bit of comedic relief and an iconic catchphrase, “You Just Got Litt Up,” that helped him stand out from the crowd as he manipulated and terrorized others. His status on the show wasnearly enough to earn him a spinoff of his own, a laPearson, according to executive producerGene Klein. Instead, he’ll get to bring his talents to the crew in Los Angeles, but what role he’ll play in an upcoming episode remains to be seen.

Created and executive produced by originalSuitshelmerAaron Korsh,Suits LAleaves the world of Specter, Litt, and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) for that of Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor in New York who is trying to make his way in Los Angeles by representing the city’s richest and most powerful individuals. Hisfirm is in dire straits though, and he and his team of entertainment lawyers have to start racking up wins and securing contracts to keep their business from going under. Making matters more difficult isthe showbiz clientele they have to work with. Amell leads a revamped cast includingLex Scott Davis,Josh McDermitt,Bryan Greenberg,Troy Winbush,Rachelle Goulding,Azita Ghanizada,Maggie Grace, andAlice Lee.
Will ‘Suits LA’ Bring on More Guests After Louis Litt?
The return of Litt, in addition to that of Macht, may only be the beginning of Korsh’s surprises asSuits LAcontinues its run. The creator hasn’t been shy about his desire tobring back more of the original castthat helped makeSuitsa household name.Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane, in particular, was on his mind assomeone he’d particularly love to bring to Hollywood. However, he also admits he doesn’t want to take the focus away from the new lawyers that the spinoff is trying to endear fans to. Ina recent conversation with TV Line, he teased at least one other veteran from the original series, likely Litt, that would be appearing soon, while acknowledging “I know that’s what fans want, but I feel like if it’s just a parade of oldSuitscharacters, it would sort of harm the new franchise, and I don’t think it would do a lot of favors to the old franchise either.”
Suits LAairs new episodes every Sunday at 9 p.m. on NBC. This Sunday’s episode, titled “He Knew,” will guest starBrian BaumgartnerandPatton Oswalt. Stay tuned here at Collider for more on the series as it continues its run.
