Warner Bros. has released the firstFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwaldposter.David Yatesreturns to helm his sixth film in the Wizarding World franchise after making his debut onHarry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. AuthorJ.K. Rowlingmade her screenwriting debut on the firstFantastic Beastsand reprises those duties on the sequel, which moves the action to Paris as Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his friends are enlisted by Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) to help track down the villainous Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp).

The poster itself isn’t too bad. Obviously, the big addition here is Dumbledore, and it’s neat to see Jude Law on the poster as the younger version of the beloved wizard. But what’s also eye-catching is the symbol of the Deathly Hallows surrounding Dumbledore and Newt. These movies are presumably leading to the big faceoff between Dumbledore and Grindelwald where Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald, thus winning the Elder Wand, which is one part of the Deathly Hallows (the other two being the invisibility cloak and the resurrection stone). If they’re already teasing the Deathly Hallows on the first poster, I assume they’ll be a major part of the plot.

Here’s the official synopsis forFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald:

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.
