There’s some good comedic promise here, but it’s pretty simple: Charlie Day isa funny motherfucker and Ice Cube is one of popcorn comedy’s best working straight men. Also, the idea of Day trying to land a punch on Cube is pretty funny. I’ll give them that. Otherwise, I’m not sure I see the appeal here since two grown ass men and model figures to students coming to blows like a couple teenage punks makes me feel Clint Eastwood levels of cranky. That said, I’m always down for a surprise comedy success andFist Fighthas the kind of cast that could pull it off.
