More has been revealed about the passing of Food Network starAnne Burrell.According to reports, authorities who arrived at the celebrity chef’s home were on site to respond to a 911 call about a reported cardiac arrest.She was found unresponsive by the New York Police Departmentat her Brooklyn home the morning of June 17.
The 911 call came in at 7:50 am, saying that Burrell had suffered cardiac arrest.Her official cause of death has yet to be confirmedby the Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Anne Burrell was 55 years old at the time of her passing. But those who say her in the days prior say they would have never expected the tragic turn of events. She’d been at an improv event where she performed the evening before.
“Everyone said she was so great last night and so happy,” a source toldPEOPLE. Another source says news of Burrell’s passing left everyone “shocked and confused,” as she “was in great spirits last night during and after the improv show. Typical fun, outgoing Anne, having a blast.”
Ina June 10 postboasting about improv,which she first revealed back in March, the Food Network staple said she’d been “having an ABSOLUTE blast” as she promoted the Monday night show, telling her fans, ”my class and I are coming to the end of this term and we get to do an actual show…We are a small but SUPER fun bunch!!”

They said, ““Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered,” her family said in a statement. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us,her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
Following her passing,Burrell was honored by the Food Network on their Instagram. In their post they wrote, “We are deeply saddened to share the news that beloved chef, Anne Burrell, passed away this morning. Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent – teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring. Our thoughts are with Anne’s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss.” The comment section was flooded with love and tributes to the beloved celebrity chef.
