SPOILERS ahead if you haven’t caught up with the latest episode!
The current season of HBO’sGame of Throneshas been one part recap and one part trailblazing effort asthe series goes off-bookfor the first time ever, but it’s also come with a healthy dose of audience trolling. Infamous for its violence, sex scenes, and nudity for nudity’s sake,Game of Thrones’showrunnersDavid BenioffandD.B. Weisshave made it apparent that they’re well aware of the complaints from fans. How exactly they’ve responded to those complaints with regard to tone is up for debate, re Melisandre’s nudity both in her young and old bodies.

Thebiggest troll moment of the seriesso far, however, is the lengthy tease over whether or not Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was really dead. In the Season 5 finale, Snow was mercilessly stabbed to death (?) by certain members of the Night’s Watch. What followed was an off-season of repeated assertions from D&D that Snow was well and truly deceased, a status that was hotly debated by the fanbase up untilthe final moments of last night’s episode. D&D might not have been giving us the whole truth, but the folks over atEWmust have known a thing or two since they have a new Harington-centric cover ready to go along with a reaction video from the once-dead Snow himself.
Take a look and listen to what Harington has to say about the latest episode:

In EW’s upcoming article, they plan to go into detail about how theGame of Thronesproducers and Harington attempted to keep his death/rebirth a secret. What’s more interesting to me is the fact that Harington actually had more days on set this season than any other actor:
“It’s a massive season for Jon,” Harington tells us. “It’s his biggest season for him so far.”

We’ll report back with more on Snow once EW’s write-up is released, but you can check out the upcoming magazine cover below.
Now, for some solid speculation on my part: If one of the deceased Stark brood can come back from the dead to exact vengeance, perhaps there’s a chance that others will follow suit. Sure, there are still a few living members of Ned Stark’s bloodline who have survived the Game of Thrones thus far, but as this latest episode of the series showed, death need not be the final act. What Is Dead May Never Die.
