If you’re like me and watchGame of Throneswith a mix of excitement, disappointment, and confusion, then this new all-encompassing recap of the series thus far is a must-watch. Not only does thisGame of Thronesrecap cover everything that’s happened in the show since the first episode in a succinct manner, it’s alsoinsanelyenjoyable thanks to narrator extraordinaireSamuel L. Jackson. Indeed, HBO enlisted Jackson’s talents to run down all the major events ofGame of Thronesin less than eight minutes, complete with NSFW language.
This is actually a brilliant combination of entertainment and utility, as folks who haven’t readGeorge R.R. Martin’s book series (like me) are sometimes confused as to who is who on the sprawling HBO fantasy show. While things are certainly closing in as the series reaches its endgame, there are still characters popping up that we’re expected to remember from Seasons 1 or 2 of whom I have absolutely no recollection, so this recap does a fine job of tying all the pieces together. Then you add in Jackson’s colorful descriptions of it all (I really hope he wrote this himself), and it’s an absolute joy to watch whether you need the recap or not.

Game of Thronesis about to begin production on its penultimate season with showrunnersDavid BenioffandD.B. Weisssaying they only have about 13 episodes worth of story left, so we’rereallyclose to the end, folks. Which is kind of neat. While the show is tons of fun, I’m happy it’ll be coming to a satisfying conclusion without wearing out its welcome, and as you can see in this recap, we’ve come a long way to the impending winter.
