Dr. Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) is one of the more important characters inThe Pittdespite his limited screen time. Abbot features at the beginning ofThe Pitt, talking to Dr. Robby (Noah Wyle) on the roof before leaving at the end of his shift. He’s not seen again until he comes back to help with the PittFest mass shooting event. Dr. Abbot hasa special relationship with Dr. Robby, but new information has come to light that shows where his romantic interests lie. Hatosy sat down for a tell-all interview with Variety to talk aboutThe Pitt, and he revealed there’s a cut scene in Season 1 that would have revealed Dr. Abbot was interested in Dr. Mohan (Supriya Ganesh):
“There’s one line in the first episode that got cut, where somebody makes a comment that she’s slow, and I say, ‘She’s the smartest person here.’ And just from that, I feel likeit was definitely, in my opinion, heading in a direction.”

Hatosy was also not shy with his interpretation of the scene. While fans have been speculating since the show’s debut that there waschemistry between the two, Hatosy confirms this by saying,“I think he likes her.”He even revealed what led to these feelings being developed:
“I think he likes her, if I’m being honest, only because of what I read. He has admiration for her brain, there’s something there. When you’re working closely with somebody that can evolve. So I think there’s a flirtation. I don’t want to sound creepy when I say it because he’s in the power position.”

Dr. Abbot and Dr. Mohan both have parts to play in making Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center tick, but there are plenty of other characters inThe Pittthat are vital to the hospital’s operations. One of those isDr. Heather Collins, portrayed byTracy Ifeachor. Collins has a romantic past with Dr. Robby, but she’s still arguably the second-most qualified doctor in the ER. Few have a more crucial role thanDana Evans (Katherine LaNasa), who may not be a doctor but is still the glue holding everyone together. Ifeachor is expected to be back in Season 2, butLaNasa’s status remains in the air.
