Netflix’sAvatar: The Last Airbenderwas released on June 26, 2025, and the live-action series ended up being a successful outing. Season 1 of the series adapted the first season of the original ATLANicklodeoncartoon, titledBook One: Water. As expected with adaptations, the Netflix series madesome changes to suit its own creative needsbut was able to introduce some of the franchise’s fan-favorite minor characters, including bounty hunter June, portrayed byArden Cho(Teen Wolf). June’s introduction was as terrifying as the cartoons as her shirshu sniffer mount, Nyla, equally made a debut. Now, Cho has revealed some uncertainty regarding a return in future seasons.
After the first season, the streamer renewed the series fora second and third season, as trust in the project seems set in stone. Despite minor characters making returns inthe original Nicklodeon series, including June, Cho shared an uncertain update regarding her character’s future on the show. Speaking to ScreenRant recently, the Teen Wolf veteran said:

“Oh, man. I wish I knew. I know. I hope she’s back. We’re all trying to work that out. It’s a big world, and there are a lot of cool characters. But yeah, she’s one of my favorites. She’s so badass. I feel really lucky to be able to play someone like Rumi, [from Kpop Demon Hunters], but also June [from ATLA], and all these strong badass women. It’s fun!”
As previously mentioned, Cho’s character does return to the original series. While the bounty hunter does not feature in Season 2,Book Two: Earth. The character is hired by Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu), Katara (Kiawentiio), Sokka (Ian Ousley), and the Blind Bandit, EarthbenderToph Beifong.to be played byMiya Cech. The group hired June and Nyla to help them trackAang (Gordon Cormier), who had ceased to exist. While June could not find the Avatar, she was able to locate Uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) near the broken walls of Ba Sing Se, as it was believed he’d know how to locate Aang.

Toph Beifong Arrives In ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 2
The decision by Netflix to haveThe Last Airbender’s final two seasons shot back-to-back was welcome news. WithSeason 2 wrapping filming earlier this year, and Season 3 beginning production on May 20, it stands to reason that there won’t be much gap between both seasons. One of the biggest arrivals to look forward to is the debut of Toph in the coming season. A hard, tough and exceptionally competent earthbender. We all loved Toph Beifong because she was different. While teasing what fans could expect from her character in Season 2,Cech previously revealed:
“My version of Toph is going to be a little older and slightly more feminine. I feel like I wanted to work into a very humanizing space for her because, you know, she was a cartoon. I have met Makayla who plays the voice of Toph, and I feel like we have both a very similar take in terms of process.”
