It’s been three years since we visited Hawkins and theStranger Thingskids, whom we all love, so the final season can’t come soon enough. The wait for fifth and final season of the series has been long, but with an epic finale wherethe group comes together to defeat Vecna(Jamie Campbell Bower) once and for all will be worth it. While the details about the upcoming season are scarce, the cast and makers have been updating fans regularly. Now,Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas, opened up about what to expect from the series and his emotions bidding farewell to the long-running series.
“Man, I mean, I’ve kind of went through those emotions already.So now it’s for the fans to take that in and digest. I feel great,”McLaughlintold ScreenRant of the series finale. The actor went on to share thatplaying Lucas for the past decade has been a “blessing.” Further delving into wrapping up his character, he said, “I’ve known the cast and crew for so long, and they’re my family. And last year, of course, the last dayI was like, “I’m not going to cry. I’m not going to cry.” And then ended up just bawling, man.Ten years of just love, laughter, sadness, and peace. So I was able to get all those feelings out.”
Further emphasizing on the friendship he experienced on and off-screen, he said he’s happy to be “a part of just something so amazing, and that has touched a lot of people.” Adding thatthe show has been an “escape” for a lot of fans. “It’s gotten people past a lot of their trauma or things that they’ve experienced, and they watch the show and it’s helped them escape, you know what I mean?It’s helped them see a different way to life and finding new friends and believing in friendship and believing in people… So I just feel great. I feel great.”
What to Expect From ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5?
The simple answer is equal parts excitement and tears. Last we saw theStranger Thingsfam, everyone had been reunited in Hawkins, which the Upside Down is taking over. Series co-creatorRoss Dufferpreviously saidthe final season is quite emotional. “It’s the end of a long journey, for everyone who made the show and also for those characters. It is thrilling and it’s our fastest start we’ve ever had — our heroes are in action right away, but I think ultimately, hopefully, it’s our most emotional season yet.”
