Universal has released a new TV spot forJason Bourne, and maybe abig ol' spoilerin the process. If it turns out to be true it’s something I’ll wish I hadn’t seen before the movie, so y’all have been warned.
It looks like they’re pulling a Marie withJulia Stiles' Nicky. BecauseMatt Damon’s Jason Bourne is a man who can never know peace, his gets dragged back into the madness of deadly espionage and bureaucratic coverups, and once again, some genius gets the idea that “he has to be put down”. In the process, if trailer editing is to be believed, it looks like they take out Nicky instead – one of Bourne’s last remaining (sort-of) friends – and send him on another mission to dismantle the secret organization churning out assassins and generally ruining his whole fucking life. So a bit of aBourne Supremacyvibe then, I can dig that.
This new program, a laTreadstone and Blackbriar, is called Iron Hand and according to Nicky, “it’s even worse than before.” Well, definitely worse for Nicky if the trailer is to be believed.Jason Bournealso starsVincent Cassel,Tommy Lee Jones, andAlicia Vikanderand arrives in theaters August 15, 2025. Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.
For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.
