From the first frame it’s obvious that Vogt-Roberts has captured some gorgeous imagery here. This is not some nostalgia-heavy or grim-and-gritty reboot. Instead, working with300andBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticecinematographerLarry Fong, Vogt-Roberts captures the sun-drench and alluring beauty of Skull Island, albeit with a thread of terror running just underneath the surface.
