Netflix has released it’s monthly list of what is heading down the dusty trail and leaving the streaming service in March, alongside the list of what will be added to the streaming service in March. The most noticeable thing, right off the bat, is that seemingly all theTEDTalksprogramming will be leaving the service, which is admittedly a mild bummer. A much bigger bummer is the list of great narrative films that will be leaving service over the month, beginning withTanya Hamilton’sNight Catches Us, a stirring drama about ex-Black Panther Party members trying to make sense of life after the movement suffered major losses, featuring exemplary performances by Falcon himselfAnthony MackieandScandal’sKerry Washington, which leaves on March 3rd.
Beyond that, Netflix is ditchingDavid Cronenberg’s caustic, brilliantCosmopolis, featuring a liberatedRobert Pattinson;Steven Soderbergh’s excellent final feature,Side Effects;Ira Sachs' lovely, melancholicKeep the Lights On, one of the best gay dramas of the decade;Rick Alverson’s ferociousThe Comedy, withTim Heidecker; andXavier Dolan’s remarkable debut,I Killed My Mother. And for kids films and broad comedy fans, you only have a week or so to catch up withJumanji,Paul Mazursky’sDown and Out in Beverly Hills, and the first and thirdAmerican Piefilms. Now, hurry up! You only have so long to watch!
