Following the notoriousM. Night Shyamalan-directed film adaptation, Netflix finally delivered the live-action adaptation ofAvatar: The Last Airbenderthat fans had been waiting for, in the form of the well-received Netflix series. The series successfully brought back the heroes of what many consider to be one of the best animated shows ever made, including the ever-lovable Aang (Gordon Cormier), the wise-beyond-her-years Katara (Kiawentiio), and the cocky but good-hearted Sokka (Ian Ousley). Additionally, some of the antagonists also made a strong impression, such as the arrogant, redemption-seeking Prince Zuko (Dallas Kim), his more well-intentioned uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee), and perhaps most notorious of all, Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). With both Seasons 2 and 3 confirmed to be in the works, fans can’t wait to see these characters again, and one of the aforementioned names above recently gave a big update.
While speaking with Collider’sSteve Weintraubat SDCC 2025 to promote hisnew Prime Video seriesButterfly, Daniel Dae Kim promised the show would come back in a big way, and the wait would be more than worth it, even calling it"very different"from Season 1. Not only that, but Daniel Dae Kim also confirmed that Season 3 of the series is already making great progress, saying, “We’re in the first block of Season 3, and what I can say about the show is that each season grows in scale. If you thought Season 1 was big, wait till you see Season 3, because there is a change in the way we are shooting Seasons 2 and 3 that will make the show very different.”

Ever the gentleman,Daniel Dae Kim also took the time to shout out his co-starsand shared abundant praise for the young members of Team Avatar:
“What’s been really cool about being part of the cast is watching these young actors grow from Episode 1 to now. What they’ve learned in terms of their technique and what they’ve learned about who they are has been really nice to watch. You hear so many stories about young actors being changed in a negative way by this business. But there’s something about the environment of that show where I really feel like these young actors are being nurtured, and I really can’t wait to see what they do, not just for Seasons 2 and 3 of our show, but beyond in their careers.”

The ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Universe Is Expanding Beyond the Netflix Show
