A new city presents unique opportunities for the new9-1-1spin-off to tell different stories.9-1-1: Nashvilletakes place in the country music capital of the world, and life in Nashville has a different vibe than in Los Angeles or Austin. The new show will develop its own identity inthe9-1-1universe, but showrunnerRashad Raisanisaid ina new interviewthat viewers should expect something familiar yet different. “Its DNA, of course, is9-1-1,” he said of the drama series that will be soapier than its predecessors. “There’s someSuccession…and someDynastyslipped in there,” he teased, referencing some of the most dramatic shows in television history featuring fractured family dynamics. Raisani teased some more of what viewers should expect, saying,

“The show begins with an explosive revelation that affects the central dynamic of a character’s world. And then we shamelessly use tornadoes to great effect as a metaphor for the storm that has come into these characters’ lives.”

‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Will Feature Unique Emergencies

Emergencies are a huge partof the9-1-1universe, and depending on the city, the emergencies are unique to the city. “We have an Airstream trailer that ends up on top of a bridge and a poor guy on a Segway tour of the city who ends up impaled on a water tower,” the showrunner said, teasing an emergency viewers can expect. “We’re going to get a bunch of crazy emergencies where people end up in places where they shouldn’t be.” This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about9-1-1: Nashville’s emergencies, as we received a sneak peek a few weeks ago.

While the scale and consequences are yet to be revealed, a teaser revealed that the show will feature a massive fire tornado in Season 1. The teaser video shared followed the tornado as it moved through the city and finally arrived at a stadium, having grown in size and speed.Country music starKane Brownhas recently joined the show for a guest arc, reportedly as part of a storyline involving a music concert emergency. Could the tornado have ended up at his concert? And as Raisani said, it is a metaphor for what happens in the characters' lives. Willthe 113be able to tame it, or will it destroy them and the city?
