FX is welcoming those brave enough back into the world ofAlien, with the debut trailer for the network’s upcoming series,Alien: Earth. The first of its kind, the episodic project will take the story first made famous byRidley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror classic and transform the next chapter into small-screen form. From the brain ofFargoseries creator,Noah Hawley, the show promises to give audiences an experience unlike anything they’ve seen in the past with plenty of new jumpscares and jaw-dropping moments along the way.

Promising to pay homage to the treasured film series that got its latest addition through last year’sAlien: Romulus, the first few seconds of theAlien: Earthtrailer show some sights that will immediately catch the attention of fans. Digging into the heart of the new series, we’re taken to the year 2120 at Earth’s Neverland Research Island. It’s there that we see the creation ofSydney Chandler’s so-called hybrid (half human, half synthetic), Wendy. Next, we see a space vessel crash into Prodigy City, with Wendy offering up her help as well as a handful of other synthetic beings to go on a search and rescue mission and obtain whatever goodies are contained on the ship. Upon their arrival, they discover that five never-before-seen lifeforms were in transit on the ship, and — well — you may guess what happens next as all hell breaks loose all in the name of science.
