Matty’s Friendship with Olympia Complicates the Situation in ‘Matlock’ Season 1

Olympia is not one to open up to people, let alone strangers. Yet still, Matty was able to get through to her, and she opened up about some of her biggest fears. Olympia feelsconfused and possibly used. “Needing someone is rare [for her], but needing Matlock, not just because of her experience and her expertise, Matlock’s also found the crack in the castle wall, and that was Olympia’s armor, and she was able to be vulnerable with her. And that’s not an easy feat for Olympia,” P. Marshall told People about Olympia and Matty’s relationship. The actress teased her character’s reaction to Matty’s lies, saying:

“And so you will get to see another side of Olympia. You’re going to see the side who was raised by a Marine, and who values principles, but also cannot really process the pain.”
