Also known asEarth-1610, the Ultimate run of comics served in part to introduce Miles Morales as Spider-Man back in 2011 after the death of Peter Parker in a completely separate continuity from Marvel’s Earth-616 main story line....

Sony Pictures has unveiled a new behind-the-scenes featurette forSpider-Man: Homecomingthat gives us a better understanding of the film’s villain, The Vulture.Michael Keatonreturns to the realm of superheroes with this character, but it’s a bit different than Batman. This featurette finds Keaton andTom Hollandexplaining the motivations and origins of The Vulture, and it’s telling that Keaton refers to him as “what you all want to call a villain.” The character has no inherent superpowers, and along with his salvage crew has been picking up scraps of alien technology left behind after the Avengers’ big city battles and making their own weapons....

Given that the United States has been at war since 2001, it’s a little surprising that it’s taken this long for us to get so many TV series focused on the armed forces. It’s not that we’ve been completely without — HBO’sGeneration Killwas one of the best, but there was also Lifetime’sArmy Wivesand the more recent (and super jingoistic)Sixon the History channel. This fall, however, we havethreemilitary series premiering all at once on broadcast:SEAL Teamon CBS,Valoron the CW, andThe Braveon NBC....

For years, the best of us have tried to make a movie adaptation ofStephen King’sThe Dark Tower, but now it’s finally happening.Idris ElbaandMatthew McConaugheywere cast as the Gunslinger and the Man in Black in directorNikolaj Arcel’s film, andphotos from the sethave already begun leaking out to give us a first look. However, for as long as fans have been waiting for this moment, King says the movie won’t be a strict page-to-screen adaptation....

Netflix and Skydance have released the firstThe Old Guardtrailer for the upcoming action film, which puts a twist on a traditional formula. Based on the graphic novel series of the same name byGreg RuckaandLeandro Fernandezand scripted by Rucka himself, the film follows a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron) and her covert group of tight-knit mercenaries who are, by all intents and purposes, immortal.
