The Skin I Live Inwas received positively by critics and audiences upon release more than 10 years ago. The film earned a “Certified Fresh” 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and even an 82% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter to go along with it. It also grossed over $30 million at the box office during its theatrical run, and while the budget has never been officially released, it’s estimated to be around $10 million, which would make the film a solid financial hit.
The Skin I Live In, which was previously titledLa piel que habito, won a BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language. It also earned other nominations at the Saturn Awards, among others.
