Only a month remains untilSakamoto Daysreturns to Netflix with the second half of Season 1. To get fans excited, the show’s animation studio, TMS Entertainment, released a new trailer featuring action-packed scenes and the anime’s newest ending theme.

This latest trailer features new hitmen who are after Taro Sakamoto (Matthew Mercer), as well as some new potential allies, showcasing that this Legendary Hitman no longer carries the “can’t rely on anyone but himself” mindset, as his friends and family grow bigger thanks to the events of the first half of Season 1. The trailer ends featuring a snippet of the show’s newest ending theme, “Dandelion,” bygo!go!vanillas.

Part 2 ofSakamoto DaysSeason 1 will continue where the show left off, as Sakamoto and his allies, Shin (Dallas Liu) and Lu Shaotang (Rosalie Chiang), work together to remove the bounty from the retired hitman, while also getting involved in a serial murder case involving the death of multiple assassins. The opening for the show’s next installment was already revealed whenNetflix released Part 2’s trailer. Part 2’s opening is titled “Method” byKroi.

What Is ‘Sakamoto Days’ About?

Based on the 2020 manga series byYuto Suzuki,Sakamoto Daysis a story about a hitman named Taro Sakamoto whose quiet life was put on hold after a 1 billion yen bounty was placed on him after he retired. Now married, with a child, and running a convenience store, Sakamoto and his allies, Shin and Lu, work together to protect not only him but also his family while following the family rules, one of which is “no killing” or risk getting divorced. So far, the anime has covered the first two and a half story arcs (approximately the first 36 chapters), with Part 2 set to continue the “Death Row Prisoners Arc” and its later chapters.

The manga is ongoing, with 22 volumes published in Japanese and 17 available in English. The 18th English volume is set for release this August. As of May 2025, the series has sold over 5 million copies, according toMantan Web. Since the release of its anime adaptation,Sakamoto Dayshas earned a 7.59 rating onMyAnimeListand holds an average audience score of 86% onRotten Tomatoes.
