A couple weeks ago, word bubbled upthatRogue One: A Star Wars Storymight be in a bit of trouble. Over the past two weeks, there’s been a flurry of rumors, some saying that the project is in serious troubleandothers saying that these reshoots were always planned, and that everything is fine.

Mads Mikkelsen, who is reportedly playing the father of the lead character Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), recently spoke toThe Independent[viaThe Playlist] and tried to reassue anxious fans about the reshoots:

“Basically, all the big films I have done always have reshoots, it is part of their budget. They’re either not super happy with a scene bit, the way we were acting, or maybe there’s something they want to add. It’s not a new thing, it happens with every film. Whether it’s bigger or less, I have no idea, I have nothing to compare with. It’s the same film; it’s just adding little bits here and there to do the final polishing. That’s my feeling.”

However, he also says that his time for the reshoots is just one day. That’s a relatively minor part of a six-week reshoot process, so it’s possible that his stuff is remaining the same while the film around him could be changing drastically.

Basically, while it’s nice to hear from Mikkelsen thatRogue Oneis going fine, we’re still in the dark with regards to these reshoots. Disney may be willing to dole out little bits of info through a trusted publication like Entertainment Weekly, but on the whole, some fans are still murmuring, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” We won’t know the truth until the end of this year.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyopens December 16th and also starsDiego Luna,Forest Whitaker,Donnie Yen,Alan Tudyk,Riz Ahmed, andBen Mendelsohn.
