Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for the next installment in their popular ghost horror franchise,The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The upcoming release is the latest in the main continuity ofConjuringfilms, whereas recent spinoffs such asThe Nunand theAnnabellemovies have tracked the backstories of some of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s (Patrick WilsonandVera Farmiga) most horrifying cases.
Directed byMichael Chavesand produced byPeter SafranandJames Wan, the newConjuringsequel is written byDavid Leslie Johnson-McGoldrickwith story by Johnson-McGoldrick and Wan. Wilson and Farmiga return to star, alongsideJohn Noble(who makes his first appearance in this trailer!),Ruairi O’Connor,Sarah Catherine Hook,Julian Hilliard,Charlene AmoiaandPaul Wilson. The movie takes a page from the real-life murder case involvingArne Johnson, the first person in legal history to claim demonic possession as a motive for manslaughter.
