‘The Power’ Features Strong Female Characters
Speaking of women, not only doesThe Powerfeature an extraordinary all-female writers' room, but it also focuses on strong female characters, which Collette once dished on in aninterview with Vanity Fair. She recalled being impressed by these women after watching them in a teaser trailer:
“When we were shooting, they showed us a teaser trailer cut together. It’s so incredibly cinematic, but I also found it so moving because seeing such a diverse range of female actors on screen was just so unusual. And it’s a story about women having agency, feeling safe and confident, and having some sense of sovereignty, so it’s very empowering to be a part of and to watch.”

Asdescribed by Prime Video,The Powersees teenage girls develop the ability (suddenly and without warning) to electrocute people at will. It features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world. The 2023 series won’t return for a sophomore season. Stay tuned to Collider for more information and watch Season 1’s trailer below.
