Tom Hardyhas been having a bit of an odd run in the last decade or so. Once a favorite ofChristopher Nolan’s, Hardy has spent the majority of his last 10 years working on three Venom movies. After wrapping up the trilogy last year with the box office hitVenom: The Last Dance, Hardy branched out with the Paramount+ seriesMobLandand the long-in-development Netflix action filmHavoc. Directed byGareth Evans,Havocdebuted on the streamer a few weeks ago, after a rather tumultuous production. While it was a hit in the initial few days of its release, the film’s mixed audience response sent it tumbling down the Netflix viewership charts.Havocappears to be making a resurgence of sorts now, having climbed all the way up to number four in the Netflix rankings.
According toFlixPatrol, on May 22,Havocfinished behind only theVince VaughncomedyNonnas, and two international films —Bad InfluenceandExterritorial. Themovie has earned a total of 13,396 pointson FlixPatrol this year, which makes it the platform’ssixth-biggest Netflix movie of 2025. The film’s performance serves as a brief respite for the streamer, especially after the mega-budget setback ofThe Electric State. Directed by the Russo brothers,The Electric Statehas accumulated under 13,000 points this year on FlixPatrol, despite having cost over $300 million to produce.

Havocfollows Hardy’s grizzled cop on a nightmarish mission across a grungy city to locate and rescue the young son of a corrupt politician. Thefilm opened to mostly positive reviews, but struggled with audiences. It holds a 63%Rotten Tomatoes score, while its audience score on the platform is languishing at a “rotten” 37%. Notably,Havoc’s action deviates from the fluid style that Evans had perfected withThe Raidand its sequel,The Raid 2.In her review, Collider’sTania Hussaindescribed it as “paper thin,” and wrote that “all the bloodshed and violence start to feel comical andmore like a distraction from a plot that never finds its footing.”
